*1 CSRS Student Researcher Support Program:
This program supports students who wish to become researchers by accepting young researchers enrolled in the master's and doctoral courses of the graduate school as part-timers to work in the CSRS laboratory.
*2 CSRS Young Researchers International Exchange Support Fund:
This program is designed to support travel expenses for young researchers and graduate students under 40 years old enrolled in the CSRS to establish research networks with overseas institutions, with the aim of fostering human resources among young researchers and strengthening inter-organizational collaboration and international competitiveness of Japan. Eight young researchers and graduate students who passed the internal screening visited research institutions in Germany, the U.K., Switzerland, and the U.S., respectively, to discuss the start of joint research projects, learn experimental techniques, and conduct other research exchanges.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude for your support of my research exchange opportunity at the Max Planck Institute, Germany. Thanks to your support, I was able to deepen exchanges with local researchers and learn about state-of-the-art metabolome analysis technologies. I also was able to build a valuable network that will lead to future collaborations, which will be a great asset to my research. I will use the knowledge and experience I gained during my stay here to further develop metabolomics and metagenomics of sea sponges and their symbiotic microorganisms, and to produce more meaningful research results. I will continue to devote myself to this project, and I hope you will continue to support us. Once again, I would like to express our deepest gratitude for your kindness.
