Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
RIKEN Center for Sustainable Resource Science (CSRS) is advancing research and development to establish new research field of “sustainable resource science” that contributes to solving environmental problems and food-related issues using as guides the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Agreement.
The Young Task Force Activities
In 2021, CSRS established a task force of early-career researchers under the leadership of the Center Director. Over five months, the team discussed how scientific research can contribute to a sustainable society. Using the United Nations SDGs as a framework, we examined potential contributions across all 169 targets in research fields related to CSRS and to RIKEN, including possible synergies and trade-offs.
