Drug Discovery Chemical Bank Unit
This unit acts as a chemical bank in the RIKEN program for Drug Discovery and Medical Technology Platforms (DMP). We store compounds synthesized or purchased in the process of exploration and structure optimization of hit compounds and supply the compounds for validation of biological activity, toxicity or safety. In cooperation with the Chemical Resource Development Research Unit, we construct and provide a chemical library for drug-discovery screening. We are constructing databases for the management of the chemical library to provide compounds efficiently. We will contribute to the drug seed screening through the technology development for the target identification and the high throughput ligand identification.
